Lie To Me

Satan, what a sneaky little devil he is! He would love nothing more than to fill us with lies and deception. He would desire nothing more than for you to believe that you are not relevant, you are not significant; that the only thing that could possibly make you feel or be significant is that next drink, that next hit, that next line or that next fantasy. What a crock of bologna! Satan is such a liar!

Think about it, if you need a drink, hit or line to be significant; who are you being significant to or for? Satan? Nope because nothing has significance to him. You are only significant to yourself; all the while he’s sitting there next to you laughing his butt off because you bought the lie, hook line and sinker. If you go ahead and allow yourself that next fantasy, who are you significant to? That person you are fantasizing about? The woman in the porn you just watched? Hardly, do they even know you exist? You are only significant in your own mind because it was just a fantasy not reality. And Satan? He’s rolling on the floor laughing as he gets ready to chain your soul.

Romans 16:19 (The Message)
And so while there has never been any question about your honesty in these matters—I couldn’t be more proud of you!—I want you also to be smart, making sure every “good” thing is the real thing. Don’t be gullible in regard to smooth-talking evil. Stay alert like this, and before you know it the God of peace will come down on Satan with both feet, stomping him into the dirt. Enjoy the best of Jesus!

You cannot be significant if God is not in your life because in reality, we are all insignificant, irrelevant and unworthy. The only thing that can make us significant or relevant is God’s grace, God’s love, and God’s mercy on our lives. Without him, we are nothing. We are but dust in the wind.

If you want to be significant or relevant in this world, would it not make more sense to be significant and relevant for others because of the Lord? Knowing that others can see and love you because of the love of God that flows through you? Being or feeling significant through the use of substance or fantasy is nothing at all. That in itself is insignificant but Satan would want you to buy the lie.

Acts 26:18 (Contemporary Version)
I want you to open their eyes, so that they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God’s holy people.”

Here’s another thought to ponder. If you were not relevant or significant to God, then why would he know how many hairs in your head there are or how many dimples, wrinkles and freckles are on your body? Matthew 10:29-31 (The Message) 29-31“What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.” Why would he fight so hard  for you, to win your affection? And if you were insignificant why would he know everything about you before you were even born? Why would he have a purpose or calling on your life? Why would he want you to make a difference in this world and for others to see the glorious changes he has made within you? Because you are insignificant? Because you are irrelevant? I think not!

Satan knows whether or not you know the truth of who you truly are and how much you TRULY matter to God. He also knows if you fulfill your purpose in this life…His butt is roasted. And that my friend is the TRUTH. YOU ARE SIGNIFICANT. YOU ARE RELEVANT. AND YOU MATTER TO GOD!

Heavenly Father, I pray that you reveal how truly significant I am to you. How truly worthy I am to you. Let me see myself through your eyes, so that with this knowledge I may be able to stand up against Satan’s lies. Please open my eyes to your love for me and remind me that you have created me to fulfill a purpose and since I was created for a purpose, I cannot be insignificant. In Jesus Holy name, Amen.
